I am reaching out on behalf of the University of Idaho to invite registered dietitians practicing in the United States to participate in an online survey to understand dietitians’ knowledge, attitude, and practices related to supporting Muslims who fast during Ramadan. Your input will be invaluable as we seek to understand the current landscape and develop future training recommendations. The study findings will help enhance culturally competent care by informing professional development planning for dietitians.
This study entitled: Identifying Registered Dietitian’s Knowledge, Attitude and Practices in Supporting Muslim Communities who Fast During Ramadan has been approved by the University of Idaho Institutional Review Board and is funded by the National Institutes of Health. The results of this survey will be analyzed by the University of Idaho, and all responses will remain confidential.
If you agree to take part in this study, you will be asked to respond to a survey. The survey includes several sections including:
Demographics – asks about area of practice, region;
Knowledge Questions – asks about knowledge related to Ramadan;
Attitude Questions – asks about your perspective on providing care to Muslims;
Practice questions – asks about your experience with providing care to Muslims.
At the end of the survey, participants will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to win a gift card by submitting their name and email via a separate link.
