Panhandle Health District (PHD) is seeking a part-time (32-40 hours per week) Registered Dietitian to join our Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program in Hayden, Idaho. This position is open to qualified internal and external candidates and offers a pay range of $26.47 – $29.00. This position reports to Kim Young, Community Health Program Manager 2. The Registered Dietitian in WIC is responsible for the care and interactions provided to WIC clients at Panhandle Health District (PHD). Daily functions include activities related to WIC client services, client and staff education, breastfeeding promotion and education, and referrals to community partners.
The ideal candidate will be certified as a Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or RD eligible with examination and certification within six months of hire, and licensed as a dietitian in the State of Idaho by the Idaho State Board of Medicine under Idaho Code, Section 54-3506. They will be proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems with accurate documentation, skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), and possess effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse populations. The candidate will have knowledge of the core functions and essential services of public health, maintain client confidentiality in adherence with HIPAA policies, and understand the structure and function of health care systems with the ability to make appropriate client referrals based on client need, program guidelines, and community resources. A valid Idaho or Washington driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one if relocating, is required, along with completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (IS) 100 and 700 within one month of employment.
