Current National issues:
Medical Nutrition Therapy Expansion Act to allow reimbursement for several additional conditions where MNT provided by a dietitian has shown to be a cost-effective service.
Treat and Reduce Obesity Act to include dietary counseling performed by a trained educator in reimbursement.
Support of the nutrition programs in the Farm Bill.
Current State issues:
Licensure board potential changes.
Consideration of a Licensure Compact.
MNT and Dietitians’ inclusion in any Medicaid legislation.
