This course will examine the eight DMS-5 classes of eating disorders: (1) Pica, (2) Rumination Disorder (RD), (3) Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), (4) Anorexia Nervosa (AN), (5) Bulimia Nervosa (BN), (6) Binge Eating Disorder (BED), (7) Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED), and (8) Unspecified Feeding or Eating Disorder (UFED).
Medical, psychological, and physiological considerations for each disorder will be discussed, as well as interprofessional care and interventions. Students will learn about Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size strategies to promote positive health practices among their health population.
This is a 1-credit, asynchronous online, 8-week college course
Open to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as RDNs.
