Brad and his wife, Peggy, own a diversified farming operation near Mitchell, South Dakota, where they raise pigs, have a cow/calf operation and grow crops on 2,200 acres. Brad is a third generation farmer and his family has been farming the same land for 100 years.
Brad is active in agriculture-related programs that focus on making consumer connections. Brad is the 2017 America’s Pig Farmer of the Year – an award which recognizes excellence in all aspects of pig farming, including animal care, environmental stewardship, employee work environment and outstanding community service.
Brad also currently serves a Chairman of the U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance, a farmer-led organization representing virtually all aspects of agriculture working to engage in dialogues with consumers who have questions about how today’s food is grown and raised.
