This year the Idaho Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is celebrating 70 years of our Idaho affiliate. In leading up to our BIG celebration at our Annual Meeting in April, we will be highlighting our members and what they do as the ‘Nutrition Experts’ for our great state of Idaho. Today we are recognizing:
Sarah Seppa, RD, CDE
Sarah is a Clinical Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at St. Luke’s Wood River. In this position, Sarah provides the community with inpatient RD services, outpatient nutrition counseling and education, diabetes self-management education, and community outreach programs.
This past summer, Sarah’s department ran a “Youth Engaged in Activities for Health” summer camp in conjunction with the Hunger Coalition and the Blaine County Recreation District at the Hunger Coalition’s “Bloom Community Farm”. During this camp, children learned about growing their own food, cooking, and eating farm fresh food. Through programs like the summer camp, Sarah has found that her department can reach the most people and build healthy partnerships with community members, that value the same things her department does, healthy eating and physical activity!
Thank you Sarah for all that you do for our great State of Idaho! To learn more about Sarah, check out the Eat Right Idaho Blog at www.eatrightidaho.net
