This year the Idaho Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is celebrating 70 years of our Idaho affiliate! As part of our celebration, we would like to recognize what Idaho Dietetic Interns and Students are doing and where they would like to go after the completion of their dietetic program. Today we are recognizing:
Rae is a M.S. Candidate & Senior in the Coordinated Program in Dietetics at the University of Idaho. As a U of I student set on graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Rae wanted to add on a minor in Nutrition.
“There were only a few classes I had left to take in order to complete a minor, one of them being “Nutrition Through the Lifecycle” with Dr. Samantha Ramsay. I can remember sitting in her class one morning listening to her speak so passionately about the key aspects of child feeding, thinking to myself, “This woman is amazing, I want to be just like her!”. Developing a relationship with Dr. Ramsay led me to the UI Coordinated Program in Dietetics, and eventually my acceptance into graduate school. I have Dr. Ramsay to thank for helping me discover a career field that I am so very passionate for.”
