Diabetes and Nutrition Center Quality Coordinator/Certified Diabetes Educator
Good Shepherd Medical Center Hermiston, OR 97838 Day shift; 40 hours a week
The Diabetes and Nutrition Center Quality Coordinator ensures implementation of the Standards and oversees the DSMES services. The quality coordinator is responsible for all components of DSMES, including evidence-based practice, service design, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement. The quality coordinator assumes a lead role in all components of Nutrition services, including program development, evidence-based practice, service design, and continuous quality improvement. The quality coordinator/certified diabetes educator will also work directly with patients in a group and/or individual setting.
SALARY: $34.18 – $46.14 DOE
EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors degree in nutrition/dietetics, or related health field Desired: Masters in Nutrition, Education or related health field
EXPERIENCE: Required: Experience in program development and management of individuals with chronic disease.
Desired: Expertise in diabetes education. Proficiency in diabetes medication adjustment and recommendation. Proficiency with insulin pumps. Expertise in Integrative Nutrition.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATIONS: Required: Appropriate/current license in professional field.
Desired: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certification in Diabetes Education from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) or in process/willingness to becoming certified. Certification in Integrative Nutrition.
